Rays 5, Rangers 4: Can’t Knock The Hustle
Mangum and J. Lowe steal bags, Aranda scores from second on a ground ball to first as Tampa Bay wins series vs. Rangers
Kumar Rocker gave the Dawg a bone, as Brandon Lowe connected on a solo shot for his 12th of the year to open this evening’s scoring. 1-0 Rays.

On the next trip through the batting order, Lowe just missed a two-run homer by Mets inches off the right field wall, but the result is an RBI double that plates Josh Lowe.
Jonathan Aranda singled home Lowe to bring the score to 3-0, and this is where the wheels may have came off for Rocker.
With two on and two out in the third, Jake Mangum grounded to first baseman Jake Burger. Rocker is late covering first base, which results in Mangum being safe. With the runners moving since there are two outs, Rocker appears to blank and Aranda takes advantage, and scores to push the Tampa Bay lead to 5-0.

The tepid Rangers offense answered immediately, as Jonah Heim hit a two-run homer and Wyatt Langford doubled in two himself to bring Texas to within 5-4 in the fifth and chase Shane Baz.
Wyatt Langford would drive in a run with an RBI single in the ninth off of former Rangers reliever Pete Fairbanks, but Texas would come up short as the Rays win their 11th game of their last 14.
Ryan Pepiot will start opposite Jack Leiter for Texas as the Rays look to sweep in the rubber game of the series as tomorrow’s probable starting pitchers, with a 7:35 PM start time from Trop East.
