Sugano Was Stellar In Anaheim
Friday night saw the Baltimore Orioles play one of their better games of the 2025 season. They scored multiple runs early, the starting pitcher gave a stellar effort and the bullpen shut it down. All that combined to produce a 4-1 victory over the LA Angels.
Tomoyuki Sugano (4-2) took the mound on Friday and pitched into the eighth inning, giving the Orioles a solid 7.1 inning effort. Sugano pitched four clean innings and scattered three hits while striking out five. The lone run he allowed came as a result of a Yoan Moncada lead-off triple in the seventh inning. Three batters into the game, Gunnar Henderson put the Orioles on the board with his fourth homerun of the season.

Baltimore opened a 3-0 lead after their half of the second inning. The inning started with a pair of walks. Jackson Holliday (2 for 3, 2B, RBI, BB) then plated a run with his RBI single.
Emmanuel Rivera‘s (2 for 4, RBI) RBI single plated the second run of the inning and Sugano cruised from there.
