Pitcher Nate Dohm delivered a standout performance for the St. Lucie Mets (Single-A) on Saturday, striking out six over 5 1/3 strong innings. The 22-year-old right-handed starter continued his stellar season, lowering his ERA to an impressive 2.22 while boosting his strikeout total to 30.
Meanwhile, outfielder Drew Gilbert launched his first Triple-A homer of the season. He continues to impress as his OPS is .851 for Syracuse.

Syracuse Mets (15-17) 8,  Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (15-16) 2

BOX SCORE

Rafael Ortega, Drew Gilbert, and Donovan Walton all hit homers in an 8-2 win vs the Railriders. Gilberto Celestino and Jackson Reetz hit RBI singles to cap off a well-rounded offensive performance that powered the team to victory.

TJ Shook and Cameron Foster were brilliant, combining for six scoreless innings and seven strikeouts. Luis Moreno and Grant Hartwig closed out the game with a dominant display on the mound, combining for two scoreless innings to secure the win.

High-A

Brooklyn Cyclones (16-9) 5, Wilmington Blue Rocks (9-17) 8

BOX SCORE

Jacob Reimer and Eli Serrano both doubled in an effort to rally back, but it wasn’t enough as Brooklyn fell to Wilmington. Both Seranno and Reimer continued their excellent starts to the season. Reimer and his 1.018 OPS are making a strong case for a promotion in the near future.

Jonathan Santucci showed signs of improvement, allowing two runs over 4 1/3 innings while striking out three and walking two. Saul Garcia struck out four over 1 1/3 innings pitched and is yet to allow a run this season.

Low-A

St Lucie Mets (15-11) 9, Jupiter Hammerheads (12-14) 2

BOX SCORE

Yonatan Hernriquez smacked his first two homers of the season, as the St Lucie Mets thrashed the Hammerheads. Colin Houck tallied three hits and is starting to pick up the pace in May, as he already has five hits.

Irving Cota and the bullpen backed Dohm up, combining for 3 2/3 innings of one-run ball. Coda has only allowed one earned run to this point and could be in line for a promotion to Brooklyn soon enough.

Florida Complex League

FCL Cardinals (1-0) 9, FCL Mets (0-1) 2

BOX SCORE

The FCL Mets fell to the FCL Cardinals to open their season. The offense failed to generate much momentum aside from a Julio Zayas double. Bohan Adderly started strong out of the gate, collecting two hits.

Jose Guevara struggled in his season debut against the Cardinals, surrendering four earned runs over just 2 1/3 innings of work. Jonathan Jimenez impressed in his first relief appearance, striking out two batters in a clean inning of work.
