Guardians News and Notes: All Eyes on José's Ankle
News and Notes for Saturday, May 3rd, 2025
The Guardians had a rare bullpen misstep by Jakob Junis and lost to the Blue Jays last night, 5-3, but all eyes are on José Ramírez's ankle this morning.
José awkwardly tripped over first while legging out a single. Cleveland.com's Joe Noga reported that José told manager Stephen Vogt he could still play and also that Vogt said after the game that José was really sore. He'll be re-evaluated this morning, but I'd bet on him at least sitting out the rest of this weekend. Hopefully he can avoid an IL stint. We are gonna get a little look at Will Wilson to see if anything he's doing is sustainable, I guess. The Guardians are back at it at 3:07PM EDT today.
You can read our Nick Karavolos's recap of the game here. He's got the tenor of our site down well in his first piece.
Zack Meisel posted a Guardians takeaways with interesting tidbits for the Athletic.
