These guys again?

The 17-15 Royals come into the first weekend series in May riding high. They had that nasty six-game losing streak in mid-April but have lost only one game since then. They’ve done it with a mix of small-ball offense and excellent pitching.

On the other hand, the 12-18 Orioles are in last place in their division. They just came off a series with the Yankees, taking 2 of 3, but they have otherwise done quite a bit of losing recently. Their pitching especially is struggling - over the past 14 days, they’ve sent 20 different guys to the mound to pitch. For the whole season, only the Miami Marlins have a worse ERA.

Michael Wacha will take the mound for the Royals. He sports a 3.38 ERA in 32 innings. Salvador Perez will sit due to his hip soreness.

Dean Kremer will start for the Orioles. He’s got a 7.04 ERA in 30 and 23 innings. Ooooooffff.

The game starts at 6:05pm Kauffman time. You can watch on FanDuel Sports Network Kansas City or listen on the Royals Radio Network. It is Star Wars weekend for the Orioles, so get ready to be transported to a galaxy far, far away for some ball.
