The Royals were able to take game one of the double header, now they go for game two... and the sweep

The Royals are coming off of two wins against the Rockies, one just a little under an hour ago, and the offense has bounced back. A seven run performance ended a seventeen game streak of scoring four or less runs, and they are looking to carry that offensive success into game two today.

After a slow start to the year, especially offensively, the Royals will enter the final game of the series with a record of 11-14. Getting a sweep against Colorado would be a big deal, especially as they head into a series with a consistently good team in the Astros.

Michael Lorenzen will take the mound for Kansas City in game two and will enter the game coming off a tough outing in Detroit last Thursday. The last time we saw Lorenzen he allowed 4 ER, 7 H, and 3 BBs in 4.2 innings (102 pitches), and today he will look to get back on track. Coming into today Lorenzen has a 1-3 record with an ERA of 4.57, and he will look to improve on his last performance to help complete the sweep.

The Rockies will send out their top prospect in Chase Dollander, who is also looking to bounce back from a rough outing the last time we saw him. Against the Nationals on Saturday, Dollander had his worst performance of the season, allowing 4 ER and 9 hits over his four innings on the mound. Dollander is a young pitcher who is only 23 and has tons of promise as a player, so he will have some struggles, but he will also have his flashes, the Royals need to be ready for his best tonight.

For game two, India is back in the leadoff spot and will be in left field, Perez takes the DH spot after his great game earlier today and Fermin goes behind the plate in the nine hole. Canha and Waters will fill the other two outfield spots and Garcia moves into the fifth spot behind Salvy. The hot bats stay in, Isbel and Renfroe will rest as they look to get the last win and the sweep in Kauffman.

The Rockies have Doyle in center for game two as well despite returning from injury. Nick Martini takes over in right field. Stallings is behind the plate, Beck stays in left, and Amador takes over at second. The Rockies will look to avoid the sweep and their 20th loss of the season in game two of the doubleheader in Kauffman.
