Rays 6, Braves 3: Grit and Glow
Danny Jansen’s coming out party fuels the Rays’ series opening win
Taj Bradley’s first inning woes would continue, as he only allowed one run in the opening frame, but at the cost of 29 pitches.
Matt Olson opened the scoring for Atlanta on the cool 73-degree evening to put the Braves up 1-0
Danny Jansen hit his first home run as a Ray, a 358-foot, two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth to left to give the Tampa Bay a 3-1 lead.

Christopher Morel went on to play a little long ball of his own, as his 107-mph solo shot gave the Rays a 4-1 lead.
In the top of the eighth, reliever Edwin Uceta’s struggles continued as Marcell Ozuna and Ozzie Albies would deliver back-to-back home runs to narrow the gap to 5-3.
Peter Fairbanks shut the door in the bottom of the ninth, but not before Danny Jansen hit an RBI ground-rule double to push the Rays lead to 6-3.
The Rays and Braves face off again from Trop East at 4:10 PM EST, with Drew Rasmussen and AJ Smith-Shawver as the probably starters, both right-handed. Tampa Bay is scheduled to wear their Devil Rays uniforms.
