Chicago is looking for another round of brilliance from starter Sean Burke

The Chicago White Sox (2-3) look to get back to .500 today against the struggling Minnesota Twins (1-4), who finally won their first game last night. The first pitch is slated for 1:10 p.m. CT but will likely be delayed due to rain. Per the radar, it looks like storms will be in the area until around 4 p.m. We will keep you updated on the start time.

All eyes this afternoon will be on Chicago starter Sean Burke, who delivered a stellar performance in his season debut. Burke silenced opposing bats on Opening Day, tossing six shutout innings and earning the W. The 25-year-old only gave up just three hits with no walks while striking out three.

On the other side of the diamond, the Twinkies will send Pablo López to the mound. The righthander, known for his consistency, was solid in his first outing, surrendering only two runs over five innings, but nonetheless, he took the loss. Lopez will be looking to bounce back and provide some stability for a Twins team eager to climb out of their early-season slump.

The South Siders’ on-again-off-again offense has been like riding a rollercoaster. Their two victories have been blowouts, and their losses, sans yesterday, were close contests. However, despite having more losses than wins, their +9.0 run differential is impressive. So secure your lapbar, and we’ll see what the bats have in store for us today.

Here’s how skipper Will Venable lines them up, working towards victory No. 3. Also, this photo of Matt Thaiss makes me uncomfortable. Anyone else?

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli hopes his lineup can keep up the momentum from last night’s win.

You can tune into the pregame show and broadcast on CHSN, where you can watch Chuck Garfien and Ozzie Guillén all bundled up in their new outside studio at The Rate. It’s pretty cool that they can be on-site, but these first two months of exposure to the weather will be brutal. Don’t have CHSN or the antenna? Tune in to Len Kasper and Darin Jackson on the radio call at ESPN 1000.
