Royals go local with new food options at the K
Come to the K hungry!
Kansas City is one of the BBQ capitals of the world, but the K has not reflected local BBQ talent for years.
Until now.
Kauffman Stadium will be unveiling a new Joe’s Kansas City restaurant for Royals fans this season, complete with their signature “Z-Man” sandwich. The Z-Man features beef brisket and smoked provolone topped with two crispy onion rings on a kaiser roll and runs for $15-20. You can find Joe’s Kansas City in right field, adjacent to the Outfield Experience.
The Z-Man is one of a number of new food items the Royals have unveiled for the 2025 season, although more could be coming throughout the year as they offer new seasonal items.
You can’t have a baseball game without a hot dog, but the Royals will take it up a notch with the Sluggerrr Dog, a chorizo sausage topped with Manchego, tempura batter, and coated with Doritos Cool Ranch crust and avocado aioli.
For those with a sweet tooth, the Royals have a new Back to Blueberry dessert available with the Sluggerrr Dog at the Craft and Draft. It’s a liege waffle bun, Basque cheesecake, blueberry compote, caramelized bananas, with Fruity Pebbles blue powdered sugar.
The Royals will also introduce a Kauffman Fried Chicken Quesadilla composed of mashed potatoes, crispy fried chicken, corn, gravy, cheddar cheese, and green onions. Also new on the menu is a Blue Velvet Whoopie Pie made of blue velvet cake and vanilla fluff. Kauffman will also feature Boulevard Crown Town Ale and Quirk Blueberry Slam this year.
Other unique options from last year will return, such as the Vinnie’s Italian Beef Pasqwich sold in Section 208. The Royals will also bring back their Korean bao buns with chicken tenders and Korean BBQ sauce.
Also returning is the Cheese Frenchee, a deep-fried grilled cheese sandwich battered with Cool Ranch Dorito crust.
But if you’re a bit wary of the prices and want just traditional ballpark staples, the Royals want to provide value options. At every game you can find the Value Menu featuring baseball favorites like beer for $5, hot dogs for $4, and popcorn, soda, and pretzels for $3 each. You can find the Value Menu at the Crown Classics concession stands in sections 213, 242, and 405, or the Hot Corner Grill at section 120, 135, 201, 417, and 422.
The Royals also showed off some of the new swag that will be available at the Team Store this year, including a Bobby Witt Jr. gold chain.
The Royals will also be teaming up with Homage to provide licensed apparel at the ballpark.
Anything look good to you? What’s your go-to ballpark fare?
