The best and the worst have another spring get-together

Well rested after yesterday’s rainout (yes! in Arizona!) the White Sox host their Camelback partners this afternoon, with Shane Smith to be the first in a parade of pitchers. Smith has only given up one hit in 3 2⁄3 innings over two starts so far, but has been charged with four earned runs because three batters he walked also scored. He’s presumably been prepped to be a starter in the regular season because, well, someone has to do it.

The Sox lineup includes a bunch of regular season probable starters as well, with Luis Robert Jr. trying to continue his excellent spring audition for the other 29 teams (1.186 OPS) in the 2-slot, followed by Mike Tauchman, continuing what should be his audition for Charlotte (.150 BA) but isn’t, because ... well, you know.

First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. Central, the last time that will be the case because daylight savings time goes into effect tonight for the real world, but not Arizona. You can watch the game on MLBTV, although it’s the L.A. feed, or see it streamed at whitesox.com. Otherwise you can catch the game on your boombox on ESPN 1000.
