Morning Briefing: Nationals To Re-Sign Kyle Finnegan
Good morning, Mets fans!
The Washington Nationals are re-signing reliever Kyle Finnegan to a one-year deal, per Jesse Rogers of ESPN. Finnegan, 33, earned an All-Star selection last season but struggled significantly in the second half. He’ll return to Washington on a $6 million guarantee.
Despite his struggles, the Nats could still opt to have him close. A National since 2020, he has been a reliable late-inning reliever each season since. With Washington unlikely to contend, he also profiles as a potential trade candidate.
