Report: Jack Flaherty Signs With The Detroit Tigers
The slow moving MLB offseason continues. In the latest signing, starting pitcher Jack Flaherty is reportedly in agreement with the Detroit Tigers. Flaherty, himself, hinted at the deal on his X, it was then confirmed by Jeff Passan of ESPN.
Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic added the deal is worth $35 million over two seasons. The deal does include an opt-out clause after the first season.
Flaherty began the 2024 season with the Tigers, posting a 2.95 ERA across 106 2/3 innings. He was then dealt to the eventual World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers. Flaherty spent the first seven years of his career with St. Louis, then a portion of a season with Baltimore. He owns a career 3.63 ERA.
Flaherty was projected to receive a five-year deal worth $115 million by MLB Trade Rumors.
