Sproat, ranked No. 46, was selected in the second round of the 2022 draft out of the University of Florida. He went 7-4 with a 3.40 ERA and 1.10 WHIP across three minor league levels last season, striking out 131 in 116 1/3 innings.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-hander dominated at Single-A Brooklyn (1.07 ERA, 25 1/3 innings) and Double-A Binghamton (2.45 ERA, 62 1/3 innings), but struggled in 28 2/3 frames at Triple-A Syracuse, pitching to a 7.53 ERA and 1.64 WHIP.

Williams, who came in at No. 58, was limited to 148 plate appearances due to injury last season and slashed just .215/.358/.298 with no home runs, eight doubles and five steals.

The 21-year-old first-round pick (No. 14 overall) in 2022 out of Rockwall-Heath High School in Heath, Texas, was excellent in his first full pro season in 2023, hitting 13 homers, stealing 45 bases and posting an .876 OPS at three levels, reaching as high as Binghamton.

Four Mets (Sproat, Williams, infielder Jesus Baez and right-handed Nolan McLean) made the list of Baseball America’s top 100 prospects released on Wednesday. Five made the cut for the top 101 in Baseball Prospectus’ list released earlier this month: Sproat, Williams, outfielder Carson Benge, McLean and right-handed pitcher Jonah Tong.
