Baseball Hall of Fame tracker: Who's a lock for the 2025 class and who's on the cusp?

0 20

Tuesday’s the big day in baseball: At 6 p.m. ET, the BBWAA will announce who got voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown as part of the Class of 2025.

Last year, it was three players who got in — Adrian Beltre, Joe Mauer and Todd Helton. Thanks to public voting numbers collected by the great Ryan Thibodaux who uses his Ballot Tracker to project who could be voted in, we have some idea of the trends ahead of the announcement on Tuesday night.

With that in mind, we decided to use that info to fill you in on who could be in, who could be on the cusp of getting in, and who could be just out. Let’s run through it all:

Probably in for sure

  • CC Sabathia

Ichiro might end up being unanimous, or at least he should be. Sabathia is at 92.6 percent on 52 percent of the ballots, so that feels like he’s in.

Looking good

He’s at 84.8 percent, which could mean good things for the closer who’s on his final year of eligibility.

Going to be close

Beltran has picked up momentum and Jones might fall short. We’ll see.

Still not happening (unless something weird happens)

Still not in. Maybe there’s some momentum building for Utley or Hernandez down the road.
