Mexican Softball League second season set to open on 23 January with increased global touch
After the huge success of the inaugural season in 2024, the Mexican Softball League (Liga Mexicana de Softbol - LMS) is set to begin its second season. Opening day is scheduled for 23 January, with the regular season going until 9 March.
The 2025 season will include plenty of international players, with countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Spain, USA and Venezuela represented in the LMS second season.
The LMS will showcase Olympians such as Steffy Aradillas (Tokyo 2020, MEX), Yurubi Alicart (Beijing 2008, VEN), Marta Gasparotto (Tokyo 2020, ITA), Geraldine Puertas (Beijing 2008, VEN), and Britt Vonk (Beijing 2008, NED) in action while Maxime Van Dalen was the first European player to sign for the Mexican Softball League in October last year

Algodoneros del Unión Laguna and Naranjeros de Hermosillo will make their debut in the league as the LMS expansion franchises.
The top four teams based on their regular season winning percentage will advance to the postseason. The semifinals will be best-of-five series, taking place from March 11 to 16.
The two semifinal winners will face off in the second edition of the Queen Series (Serie de la Reina), a best-of-five series in a 2-3 format, scheduled for March 18-23.

Charros de Jalisco are the defending champions. They beat Sultanas de Monterrey in last year's Queen Series, 3-1. Yeraldine Carrion was the MVP of the inaugural season.
