The lottery will occur December 10 at 5:30 pm.
The 2025 MLB Draft will begin on July 13, 2025, in Atlanta as part of MLB’s All-Star Week festivities, and in preparation for the event, MLB will be holding its third lottery, the first that the Rays will have participated in.
The Draft Lottery, in its third year, will take place on Tuesday, December 10th at 5:30 p.m. (ET)/4:30 p.m. (CT) during the Baseball Winter Meetings in Dallas and will be carried live on MLB Network and streamed on MLB.com. The Lottery will determine the order in which Clubs will make the top six selections of the 2025 MLB Draft.
Among the 16 Clubs that will participate in the Draft Lottery, the Rays have the 10th highest odds at a No. 1 overall pick (1.5%) or of a Top 6 pick (15.9%).
The Rockies and Marlins are tied for the highest odds at 22.5% and 92.4% respectively. The Angels have an 18% chance at No. 1, the Nationals at 10.2%. In the division the Blue Jays have odds of 7.5% and 60.6% (fifth highest), and the Red Sox have 1.2% and 13.1% (eleventh).
Last year the Guardians were awarded the top pick despite a 2% chance, the 9th highest odds.
