Athletics Re-sign Seth Brown

Wednesday the Athletics re-signed Seth Brown to a one-year deal, avoiding arbitration and bringing the 1B/DH back for another year with the team. In 372 at-bats in 2024, Brown hit .231 with fourteen homers, 44 RBI’s and four stolen bases.

Award Week Continues

Tuesday was day two of the MLB Awards week with announcements of the American and National Leagues Managers-of-the-Year. While Mr. Kotsay was not a finalist for the award this year, A’s fans got a small consolation prize in knowing an Athletics fan-favorite Stephen Vogt was this year’s winner. Vogt played twelve seasons in the majors, six with the A’s and left this incredible memory in his final major league at-bat. In his first season as manager of the Cleveland Guardians, he led the Guardians to a 92-69 record, the best in the AL Central. He lost in the ALCS to the Yankees in five games.

Hall of Fame Ballot Released

The internet is abuzz with the announcement of the 2025 Hall of Fame ballot. While only a few of these great players ever donned the Kelley Green and Gold at some point in their careers, many of them gave the A’s headaches in Hall-of-Fame proportions.
