Shohei is back.

The last two World Series contestants who were down two games to none went on to win the series. But overall, the record is far more tilted in favor of the team that wins the first two games—especially the home team that wins the first two games. That’s what we have seen in this particular Series, with the Los Angeles Dodgers defeating the New York Yankees twice at Dodgers Stadium.

But now the Dodgers are going to the Bronx, where the Yankees play in a little toybox of a situation. The good news for the Yankees is that they’re home. The good news for the Dodgers is that superstar Shohei Ohtani, probably the most famous Japanese person in the world and the greatest baseball player on the planet, is gonna be back for Game 3. If you saw Game 2, you know that he slid awkwardly into second base, but it was a relatively minor shoulder issue that for sure hurts. But when you’re trying to win, you’ll go through a little pain.

Though the two presumptive MVPs have both been in this series, there hasn’t been a whole lot of fireworks between them. While I’m still rooting for the Dodgers to win the whole thing, I’m rooting for a great series first and foremost. And that would entail Aaron Judge to snap out of his slump a little bit to power the Yankees to at least one game to make this somewhat of a series.

So I’m rooting for...the Yankees? Question mark? To win this particular game. Because Judge deserves some redemption; he’s not the one who I really have a beef with.
