When do lots open? When do the gates open?

Kauffman Stadium will host its first playoff game since 2015 when the Royals take on the Yankees in the American League Divisional Series this week. Game 3 will take place Wednesday, October 9 at 6:08 CT while Game 4 will be Thursday, October 10 at 7:08 CT.

You can expect the K to be rocking Wednesday night after the Royals tied up the series on Monday. The parking lot opens at 1:30 with stadium gates to open at 3:30. Parking must be purchased ahead of time for $30.

The Royals are advising fans to be in their seats by 5:40 for pre-game festivities. Former Royals All-Star first baseman Eric Hosmer will throw out the first pitch. All fans will be given a rally towel upon entry. First pitch will be 6:08 with Seth Lugo taking the mound for the Royals against Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt.

The Royals are introducing new food options for the postseason including a “Triple Play Cake”, “Mac and Jack”, pulled pork Crown Sticky Buns, Bricketacho dog, Pumpkin Spice Latte Pizza, and “The Grand Slamwich”, a maple Long John donut with hand-breaded fried chicken with a sweet and spicy sauce.

Remember Kauffman Stadium does not allow bags except the following:

  • One clear bag no larger than 12” x 12” x 6” with all items inside easily visible.
  • One-gallon clear zip-seal bag (Ziploc® bag or similar).
  • Small clutch bags that do not exceed 9” x 5”, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.
  • An exception may be made for medical reason or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and young children after proper inspection.

Kauffman Stadium is also completely cashless. Fans can redeem cash for cards at reverse ATMs located throughout the stadium.

Don’t have tickets yet? There are still a few remaining at kcroyals.com as well as those on the secondary markets, but they ain’t cheap. Tickets were generally running about twice what they were for the first two games in New York.

If you can’t attend, you can still watch the game on TBS, truTV, and Max with Bob Costas and Ron Darling on the call. You can also listen to the Royals Radio network with games airing on 96.5 The Fan and 610 Sports in Kansas City or on ESPN radio on 810 WHB. And of course, you can also follow the game in game threads on Royals Review!

What are you doing for the game tonight?
