Anthony DiComo of MLB.com notes that the New York Mets are leaning towards starting Tylor Megill for Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Phillies.

Mike Puma of the New York Post reports that injured starter Kodai Senga is “in the conversation” for a roster spot on the Mets’ NLDS roster.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Mets are the first team in MLB history to both clinch a postseason spot and win a playoff series by coming from behind in the ninth inning or later in both deciding games.

As reported by Andy Martino of SNY, Brandon Nimmo learned just before the game that his grandmother, Claudine Nimmo, had passed away. The night was an emotional whirlwind for him, filled with both the joy of victory and the sadness of his loss.

Brewers shortstop Willy Adames tells Jon Heyman and the New York Post that he was ready to meet Jesse Winker and settle their differences in the parking lot after their chirping session as Winker tripled to give the Mets the lead in Game one, but Winker was a no-show.

As noted by Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated, TBS has announced its broadcast teams for the ALDS. Bob Costas and Ron Darling will cover the New York Yankees – Kansas City Royals series, while Brian Anderson and Jeff Francoeur will handle commentary for the Detroit Tigers – Cleveland Guardians matchup.

The Houston Astros led MLB with 35 pitch clock violations, while Washington’s Kyle Finnegan had the most among players with 11. Overall, there were 602 violations in 2024, down from 1,048 in 2023. Pitchers were responsible for 465, batters for 133 and catchers for four. Washington had 31 violations overall, followed by Arizona with 30. The Reds are hiring Terry Francona as their next manager, per MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. An official announcement is expected Friday. Francona, 65, stepped down as the Guardians’ manager after the 2023 season. He brings 23 years of experience and a 1,950-1,672 record with the Phillies, Boston Red Sox, and Guardians. He led Boston to World Series titles in 2004 and 2007.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announce that Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start Game 1 of the NLDS and Jack Flaherty will start Game 2 against the San Diego Padres.
