LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Colonie man was arrested on Saturday following an investigation into a fight at Dick's House of Sport in Latham, according to Colonie Police. Kyle Fowlkes, 19, is facing multiple charges.

On August 24 around 11:57 a.m., police responded to the sports retailer located on Troy-Schenectady Road after receiving reports of an altercation involving several people hitting each other with baseball bats. Arriving officers found two victims who claimed they had been attacked by a five-person group.

The preliminary investigation determined that after seeing the victims buy limited edition Nike Air Jordan sneakers, the suspects allegedly assaulted the customers before fleeing with the stolen shoes. The two victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the suspects, identified as Fowlkes, was located at the scene and was taken into custody. He now faces the following charges:

  • First-degree robbery
  • Two counts of second-degree assault
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Fowlkes was arraigned at the Colonie Town Court after his arrest. He was then remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000 cash, $50,000 bond, or $100,000 partially secured bond.

The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to search for the other suspects. Anyone with information or anyone who may have cell phone footage of the incident is asked to contact Colonie Police Department Investigators at (518)783-2754.
