Thailand strengthens Baseball5 foundations with coaching seminars

Thailand recently advanced its Baseball5 capabilities through two coaching seminars held in Suphan Buri and Chon Buri from 13-16 August. Led by coach Andrea D'Auria, these sessions were designed to enhance the skills and strategies of Thailand's national Baseball5 athletes and their coaches, laying the groundwork for the sport’s growth in the Southeast Asian country.

The Sports School in Suphan Buri, already a key trainingground for the national team, became the centre of activity. Twelve nationalathletes, along with eight coaches, participated in a four-day seminar thatcombined theoretical and practical sessions.

D’Auria guided participants through a series of drills and exercises covering both the technical and tactical aspects of Baseball5. These sessions provided an opportunity to strengthen the participants’ understanding of the game and improve their on-field performance.

In Chon Buri, Burapha University welcomed 20 coaches keen tobroaden their knowledge of Baseball5. The seminar followed a similar structure, with participants engaging in classroom instruction and on-field practice. Theystudied the rulebook, practised defensive and offensive drills, andparticipated in simulated games to apply their new skills.

These seminars ensure that both the current and future generations of athletes and coaches are well-equipped to excel in the discipline not just for a single event, but also signify a broader effort to cultivate a deeper understanding of Baseball5 as the nation prepares to host the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Bangkok, Chon Buri, and Songkhla.
