Gamethread: Cubs at White Sox
The North Siders have already retained the Cup, so we’re playing for the foreign concept of “pride” tonight
How those turntables do turn ...
In honor of Grady Sizemore being named the interim manger for the Chicago White Sox here is the best timed heckle ever. pic.twitter.com/1kldMBf2qE

Former enemy/forever heartthrob Grady Sizemore now pilots the White Sox, and at first listen, seems a bit more authentic than his prior two predecessors.
In fact, that includes his utter surprise at being the sacrificial lamb interim manager to finish out the season’s final 45:

As more than a few observed, GM Chris Getz seemed pleased as punch at the change, even though he (arguably) was as responsible as anyone in the front office for bringing Pedro Grifol in. Don’t be too persuaded by Getz’s insistence that the new manager come from outside of the org. TRUST US: If Grady does well skippering the end of the season, Jerry knows the whole “I was a $15 intern” story of Sizemore’s head to toe; he’d be the exact price to take over the club for good.
Here is Grady Sizemore’s first White Sox lineup, and he runs out the top starter on the team to greet him and eviscerate the Cubbies:

As for those Cubbies, who cares who’s playing for them. Wait, you care? Oh, that’s right, you gotta have the scorecard to know who to laugh at when they lose to the 28-win White Sox:
