In Mike Puma’s latest piece for the New York Post, Adam Ottavino wondered if he might be the next to go from the Mets bullpen as the unit is in flux due to injuries and poor performances. Despite the uncertainty, he believes it would be a mistake for the team to let him go.

According to manager Carlos Mendoza, Reed Garrett will meet the Mets in Seattle tomorrow. While the team might not activate him from the IL right away, it’s expected to happen at some point over the weekend, as reported by Tim Healey of Newsday.

Alexandra Rivera from the Rockland/Westchester Journal News writes that Playland will host a fan event with Mets infielder Jose Iglesias on Monday, August 12. Partnering with Audacy New York and WCBS Radio, the park will offer fans a chance to meet Iglesias, get autographs and hear him perform his hit song ‘OMG.’ The event, running from 3 to 7 p.m., will be hosted by Race Taylor of WCBS-FM 101.1 and Ted Smooth of 94.7 The Block. This event comes as Iglesias’ song just reached one million views on YouTube.

The Chicago White Sox announced the dismissal of manager Pedro Grifol. Jesse Rogers of ESPN adds that the team has also dismissed bench coach Charlie Montoyo. Chicago also announced that former big leaguer and current White Sox coach Grady Sizemore will take over as interim manager.
