News and Notes: Big Series against the Twins Starts Today

News and Notes for Friday, August 9th, 2024

At 2:10 PM and 8:10 PM EST today, the Guardians will attempt to end their five-game losing streak and continue a five-game winning streak against the Twins in a double-header in Minneapolis.

Alex Cobb will start the evening game so we will see the latest trade acquisition tonight.

Dan Hayes and Zack Meisel of the Athletic have your preview. I say this because my basement flooded and my workplace flooded so I doubt I'll have time to write one.

It was a little odd to me that Kyle Manzardo, George Valera and Will Brennan all played for Columbus last night but they were all in St. Paul so one may still get the call to help vs. four right-handed starters this weekend. Or not.

And to top it all off, Travis Bazzana is struggling in High-A. It never rains but it pours. Let's hope the skies clear for a Guardians win or two today.
