Some new faces are in the Rays clubhouse, some from the trade deadline, and some coming back from a long stay on the IL, as they take on Miami in America’s ballpark.

Springs was shaking off some rust in the 1st as he gave up a 2 run HR to Emmanuel Rivera.

Rays got a run back with Christopher Morel, who wasted no time hitting his 1st HR as a Ray.

Wanting to limit his innings coming back from a lengthy IL stint, Cash & Co only had Springs going 3.2 innings. In that span he gave up 6 hits, 2 runs, walked 1, and struck out 3.

Springs was replaced by Tyler Alexander, who struck out Xavier Edwards in the 3rd, but gave up a solo HR to Jake Burger to open the5th inning.

Marlins lead 3-1 after 5 innings.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, the first two Rays batters got on base: Brandon Lowe via a walk, and Christopher Morel via a HBP. Josh Lowe was next up, and sent a 1-1 pitch to the gap to plate Lowe, and put Morel on 3rd.

Later, Rays have bases loaded with 2 outs and Ben Rortvedt up at the plate.

With everyone running, Rays were able to score 2 and take a 4-3 lead.

Rays had another bases loaded situation in the same inning, with Yandy Diaz at the plate.

Rays take a 6-3 lead after 6 innings, with a 5 run rally!

In the bottom of the 7th inning, Jose Caballero capitalized on another scoring opportunity, doubling home Josh Lowe to make it a 7-3 game.

With the throw, Caballero moved to third, and then tried to steal home, but was later ruled as a balk.

In the bottom of the 8th inning, Yandy Diaz singled, and brought Brandon Lowe up to the plate.

9-3 Rays, and to top it all off, newly acquired Ray Hunter Bigge closed out the 9th, flashing a 99 MPH fastball.
