A slew of looming-trade-deadline links to tickle your fancy on this Monday morning.

In Mariners news...

  • Since joining the Mariners after being DFA’d by the Washington Nationals, Víctor Robles has almost single-handedly kept the fandom vibes from plunging into crushing depths, through his energetic presence and scorching hot bat. There's much more to the player than just the stat line, though, and Shannon Drayer has given us a deeper look into the person behind the uniform. I was already toying with the idea of buying a Robles jersey in teal before reading this article, but after reading it I know I will.
  • Adam Jude provided updates about the who and what of Seattle’s intentions at the deadline, making it clear they still plan to add—if they can find a willing trade partner. ($)
  • Insight into Seattle’s deadline intentions was also given by Jerry Dipoto himself.

  • After a 1-for-4 effort, Jorge Polanco was removed late in yesterday’s game due to a knee issue he’s been dealing with.

  • This is probably, almost guaranteed, to be nothing. Unless...

  • Even though he has already set up permanent residence there, Cal Raleigh continues to slug his way into the hearts and minds of Seattle fans, and from both sides of the plate.

  • A very Merry Birthiversary to infield prospect Cole Young!

  • No, thank you Yimi García, thank you. Keep up the good work, and welcome to Seattle.

  • The Kid was there to celebrate with the team after their victory on Saturday.

  • It’s a vibe.

  • Colt Emerson has been making and continues to make his case for his elevated top prospect status.

  • A small sample size with some big numbers for Kobe Kato since joining the Rainiers, a big leap for the 25 year old minor leaguer.

Around the league...

  • After Rockies pitcher Cal Quantrill chirped at (now former) Boston backup catcher Reese McGuire about his seedy past, the tensions between the two teams reportedly reignited off of the field, and stadium security had to get involved.
  • Isaac Paredes is now a Chicago Cub, but more importantly, he's not an Astro.

  • The Red Sox made a flurry of moves, including adding recent acquisitions James Paxton and Danny Jansen to their roster.

  • Is Atlanta cursed? With all of the injuries this year, I am starting to think Atlanta might actually be cursed. This time it is Reynaldo López who is now day-to-day, with right forearm tightness.

  • It wasn’t all subtraction from the Rangers on the Sunday just two days before the trade deadline, as they pulled off a trade with the Tigers.

The Tigers will need someone to take the spot of Kelly, and they didn’t let that decision dangle, and are expected to go with Dingle.

  • Grain, meet salt.

  • The Rays have been the most active of any team at the deadline, and have now dealt reliever Jason Adam to the San Diego Padres.

  • There’s been some talk on the hot stove of Josh Bell possibly getting moved to another team, and now that might be even more likely with him being put on outright waivers.

  • Former division rival turned friend turned former friend and current he’s-in-the-National-League-so-it’s-whatever Ryne Stanek had a rough first outing with his new team, the Mets.

  • The speed with which the broadcast director went to a different camera shot! Not quick enough though... not quick enough.

  • What could be better for Xavier Edwards than hitting his first Major League home run? How about hitting for the cycle in the same game, capping it off with an impressive hustle into an infield single.

  • Former pitcher Reyes Moronta has tragically passed away in an accident, at the age of 31.
