In what might have been the equivalent of a DNP-Coach’s Decision in the NBA, Erick Fedde was pulled at four innings, three earned, 79 pitches. Or, as the most cynical among our prospect watchers call it, a “Noah Schultz.” Anyway, not sure why a guy being paid well and NOT in danger of Crochetian arm fatigue is getting pulled after four innings of a 3-1 deficit in a major league baseball game, but Fedde got pulled — and immediately, reliever Justin Anderson was greeted with back-to-back solo shots to open the fifth and salt the game away for Seattle, 5-1. (Yes, for a team averaging a sneeze more than two runs per game, the opposition scoring five is white-flag waving time.)
