Mason Miller among 37 first-time All-Stars

The 94th Major League Baseball All-Star game will take place tonight at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The pomp and circumstance has be alive and well in Texas since Friday with events like the HBCU Swingman Classic, the Celebrity Softball Game, and of course the Home Run Derby last night. Tonight’s Midsummer Classic features thirty-seven first time All-Stars, including a rookie starting pitcher.

Last Year’s World Series managers will take over the teams again this year, matching Arizona’s Torey Lovullo for the National League against Texas’ skipper Bruce Bochy for the American League.

The Oakland Athletics lone representative this year is Mason Miller, our flamethrowing second year closer. Miller has emerged as one of the most talked-about relievers in the MLB. He has struck out nearly half of his batters faced, and his sixty-eight strikeouts leads all Major League relievers. Plus, his average velocity of 100.9 mph ranks as the highest of any pitcher in the baseball.

But before we get to see Miller, we’ll see the All-star starters.

Corbin Burnes the Baltimore Orioles star will be starting for the American League. In his first season with the O’s, Burnes is 9-4 over nineteen 2024 starts with a 2.43 ERA.

Burnes will face this lineup for the National League:

Pittsburgh Pirates rookie sensation Paul Skenes will get the start of the National League tonight. Skenes is 6-0 in eleven major league starts with 89 k’s and a 1.90 ERA. Skenes will face this starting lineup for the American League:
