Morning N&N for June 26

The Guardians were victorious yesterday by a 10-8 score over the Orioles. The Phillies lost. That sounds like a really random and unrelated fact, doesn’t it? Well, we’ll get there after the wackiness.

The starting pitchers stunk. Logan Allen was very bad; Cole Irvin was slightly worse.

A lot happened during and after the time those two were in the game. Maybe this will cover it for you? I don’t really know. There was a lot. You should first know how the game went, inning by inning, I think?

And then you should know that Jose Ramirez was 2-for-5 with a 3-run homer.

And that Bo Naylor was 3-for-4 with a triple, double and RBI.

And that Gabby Arias was 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs.

And you should also know how the pitching managed to win a 10-8 game after Logan Allen gave up 6 runs in 3 innings:

That is one good bullpen. Even better than usual.

The Guardians are now the best team in the American League and the National League.

• The Royals lost 2-1 to the Marlins. Their offense has disappeared lately.
• The Twins lost 5-4 to future Guardian Brandon Pfaadt and the DBacks.
• The Twins also placed Chris Paddack on the IL. He tired.
• Twins GM Derek Falvey can fix Terry Francona’s printer, but Minnesota’s oft-injured players have not been as easy to cure. This article is actually mostly about the Guardians, but I had to get that dig in.
