Rays Your Voice: This team just isn’t that good

But can it get better?

It’s now the middle of June. For the most part, the Rays are who they are. There are no more position players on the IL, and for the most part the team looks like the front office planned for it to look entering Spring Training. So on this episode, we come to grips with the reality that this team just isn’t good enough.

The 2024 Rays have a historically bad offense, a pitching staff that gives up too many home runs, and a team that lacks the juice to make a real postseason push. When your best players are either hurt or playing like they are hurt, there’s not much more you can do.

This isn’t all doom and gloom, there are still some positives on this team, and some things to look forward to. Taj Bradley seems to have started his leap into becoming a top-end starting pitcher, and Jose Siri is regaining his 2023 form at the plate. And while we are disappointed with the results on the field, the team still remains one big winning streak away from being right in the thick of things.
