Good morning, Mets fans!

Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, and Luis Torrens all hit homers, and Alonso drove in five runs as the Mets finished off a three-game sweep of the Padres with an 11-6 victory on Sunday. This is the Mets’ first sweep of San Diego since August of 2006. Tylor Megill earned the win on the mound, allowing five hits, two runs, and two walks with five strikeouts over five innings.

The Mets will carry their five-game winning streak into a three-game set against the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field beginning this evening. David Peterson (2-0, 4.32 ERA) will take the hill against right-hander Jon Gray (2-2, 2.17 ERA). Last season, the Rangers took two of three games from the Mets at Citi Field. This is the Mets’ first series at Globe Life Field and their first trip to Arlington since 2017 when they split a two-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m.
