Bethlehem, Averill Park advance to Class AA baseball semifinals

TROY, NY (NEWS10) -- Championship matchups were established across Section 2 baseball on Monday. Joe Bruno Stadium played host to the Class AA semifinals.
In the first matchup, two-seeded Bethlehem advanced past the three-seed, Ballston Spa, thanks to a brilliant pitching performance by Owen Turner. Turner threw up a no-hitter, striking out eight in the Eagles 4-0 win.
In the nightcap, Averill Park's Cinderella story continued. The eighth-seeded Warriors bested fourth-seeded South Glens Falls 4-2. Anthony Decker went the distance on the mound for Averill Park, striking out eight batters.
The Eagles and Warriors will begin a best-of-three series on Wednesday at the Joe at 7:00 PM.
