Once more unto the breach, dear fellows

Hope you’ve got your coffee, bagel, and a particularly inattentive boss, because today we get to indulge in one of my favorite oddities: midweek morning baseball. As a Formula One fan, I appreciate when sporting events get themselves over and done with around noon so I can spend the rest of the day moping and/or celebrating depending on the result.

Lineups:

Ty France is getting a day off today, with some weird finagling in the lineup to compensate. Luke Raley is getting his 3rd start as a first baseman, Leo Rivas is in the starting lineup at short, and Josh Rojas is being sent out into left field yet again. Rojas has been one of the better hitters in baseball, let alone the Mariners, and this positional flexibility lets him get in the lineup on weird days like this, letting the M’s keep their scalding hot leadoff hitter.

On the Twins side of things, it looks like the Mariners will be spared having to deal with Carlos Correa in the starting lineup, which is a blessing after last night’s game.
