[Men's Wrestling] Wrestlers Pound Hosts to Highlight the Rumble at Rutgers
Williamson topples Rutgers with a flurry of pins. The Mechanics headed north on Saturday to take part in the Rumble at Rutgers, a combination dual meet and round robin matches. The Williamson grapples posted a decisive 45-18 victory over the Rutgers WC. Pins were recorded by Ainsley Doyle (SR/Wilmington, DE) (133), Danny Tommarelli (157), Talon Pisarchuk (JR/Bensalem, PA) (174), Dave DiCampli (197) and Jeremy Bony (FR/Philadelphia, PA) (235). Doyle continues his impressive run taking his record to 10-1 with 6 pins on the season. He is currently ranked ninth in the nation. Freshmen Jeremy Bony went 2-1 on the day, both wins were with first period pins. In preparation for tournament time, Talon Pisarchuk took the mat with four matches. He went 3-1 with three first period pins before losing his last of the day in a tough 3-2 decision. Coach Frank commented, "if that match took place earlier, there would have been a different outcome". In round robin action, Eliah Kyle picked up his first victory of the season with a first period pin as well as Josh McMahon improving his record to 3-4 on the season.
The Mechanics will wrestle on Saturday, February 11 in the Mid East Conference Duals at the Newtown Sports Training and Events Center in Newtown PA. Wrestling begins at 8:30.
