WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons have been selected to finish third in the KCAC Preseason Coaches' poll, the league office announced today (Aug. 1) following the league's Virtual Media Day.

Defending regular season and conference tournament champion Oklahoma Wesleyan University was the coaches' top choice with 12 first-place votes, with McPherson College coming in second and receiving the remaining first-place tally.

Following the Falcons in third were Tabor College and Ottawa University making up the top five.

In head coach Bryan Perez's first season at the helm, the Falcons also recorded a third-place result in the league last year and return eight starters and three All-KCAC selections from the 2021 squad.

Highlighting the returners for the Falcons this season is senior Juan Zamora, who paced the team with 16 goals last year to give him a modern-era (since 2007) school record 48 goals in his career.

The Falcons will open the 2022 campaign on Aug. 17 at cross-town rival Newman University, with the home opener set for three days later (Aug. 20) vs. Baker University at Adair-Austin Stadium.
