Doane Track and Field closed out the 2022 NAIA Indoor Championships on Saturday in Brookings, S.D., with action on Saturday morning and afternoon. The Tigers crowned another national champion and had two NAIA All-Americans on the day.

The day opened with the women's shot put and Allison Skala (SR/North Platte, Neb.) taking to the thrower's ring. After prelims, Skala sat in second place with a mark of 13.76m. As finals began, Skala started to slip down the leaderboard as competitors below her after prelims hit bigger throws. When it was Skala's turn, she returned the favor by hitting a mark of 14.35m, a personal best, and moved into first place. On her second throw of the finals, Skala improved her personal best mark with a throw of 14.48m (47-06.25), a mark that would win her a national championship.

Annika Pingel (SR/Pella, Iowa) was one of eight finalists for the 800m run and she ran a time of 2:18.93 to place seventh overall for All-American honors. It is the first All-American honor for Pingel.

Sarah Theiler (SO/Arlington, Neb.) competed in the high jump but was unable to clear the opening height.

On the men's side, Matthew Campbell (SR/Ainsworth, Neb.) competed in the men's shot put a day after winning the weight throw. He qualified for finals with a throw of 16.33m (53-07.00) but would be passed up in the fifth round of throws, missing All-American honors by one place as he finished 9th overall.

Doane finished 9th on the women's side and 18th in the men's final team standings.
