[Men's Basketball] Fifty-Eight Days Later, Basketball Team's Win Streak Continues

Ending their first semester of play on December 9 with a big win over Thaddeus Steven College of Technology, the Williamson basketball team probably never thought they would have to wait fifty-eight days until their next game.  And yet, due to COVID, all games over the Christmas Break, as well as an additional two weeks' worth of games due to a delayed start to the second semester put that many days between games.  Yet, despite the lay-off, the Mechanics came out strong early and rolled to a big win 76-53 over Patrick Henry College on Saturday afternoon.

Williamson started strong, as they scored the first nine points of the game and eventually rolled to a 40-25 halftime lead. They came out just as strong to start the second half, as they built the lead to as many as 26 points before closing out with the 23-point win.

The long lay-off didn't appear to have as big an impact as one might have thought, as the Mechanics 76 points was their largest total on the year so far.

As far as scoring went, the Mechanics placed four players in double-figures, as John Mastella (SR/Leedom, PA) (16), Kyle Morgan (SR/Wilmington, DE) (15), Corhan Mills (SR/Chester, PA) (10) and Isaiah Kelsey (SR/Wilmington, DE) (10) all hit double digits.  Morgan just missed a triple-double, as he also had 11 rebounds and seven assists.  Mills led the team with 12 rebounds.  Williamson shot 42 percent from the floor for the game.

Williamson will look to extend their winning streak to three on Tuesday, as they host Delaware County Community College in a 7:00 P.M. start.
