Buster Olney of ESPN reports that the qualifying offer for this offseason will be $18.4 million. That number is down slightly from the $18.9 million it was worth in 2021.

Olney also notes that players given the qualifying offer will have to decide whether to take or reject before the current CBA expires on December 1.

As it relates to the Mets, they have two important free agents that they’re expected to give a qualifying offer in right-handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard and right fielder Michael Conforto.

Sources tell MMO that Conforto is likely to reject the offer in search of a longer deal in free agency.

Syndergaard, coming off throwing only two innings in two seasons, would likely be wise to take the offer to build back up his value.

Other players around the league that could potentially be given the qualifying offer include Carlos Rodon, Carlos Correa, Freddie Freeman, Trevor Story, and Corey Seager.
