Last CLE mock highlighting some possible targets, then I'll post my final mock on draft day Sunday and probably some favorites lists before that.
23 RHP Michael McGreevy (UC Santa Barbara), 20.11yo
McGreevy is getting a lot of Bieber comps, same school, similar style. 6'4 with a four pitch arsenal, all above average to plus with good command of it. Stellar track record, K/BB among highest in all of college, very young for class. He checks all the boxes and would come significantly under slot here.
Round 2 (58) SS Ryan Spikes GA HS, 18.4yo
5'9 SS but has power in that body. He's a riser, has demolished the ball in pre draft workouts.
Comp Round 2 (69) LHP Doug Nikhazy (Mississippi), 21.10yo
After experiencing the success with a fast moving college pitchability lefty in Logan Allen, they go there again with Nikhazy. Steady strong track record, gets the job done with average or better arsenal. Just a pitcher.
Round 3 (95) CF Tyree Reed CA HS, 18.6yo
Player that dropped but previously had first round buzz. A little risk/reward gamble here.
Round 4 (125) 3B/1B Tommy White FL HS 18.4yo
They drafted Will Bartlett from Img Academy, White is another masher from that school that can also hit.
Round 5 (156) LHP Rodney Boone (UC Santa Barbara), 21.2yo
Two SP Form the same college, why not. Boone offers more of the same as McGreevy, just from the left side.
Round 6 (186) RHP Braden Olthoff (Tulane), 22.3yo
Another K/BB darling with track record and command over stuff profile
Round 7 (216) SS Nic Kent (Virginia), 21.2yo
Ernie Clement clone coming off a down draft season, but mostly BABIP suppressed. Good K/BB.
Round 8 (246) RHP Jake Miller (San Diego), 20.11yo
Another underrated small school arm that has put up good numbers with a solid average 4 pitch arsenal. 6'2 and very young/class too.
Round 9 (276) CF Tristan Peters (Southern Illinois), 21.4yo
Speedy small school CF that can also hit (LHB) and close to 2:1 BB/K ratio. He'll intrigue CLEFO.
Round 10 (306) RHP Zebby Matthews (Western Carolina), 21.1yo
This guy is 6'5, reaches 93 and has performed in a offense heavy conference CLEFO has drafted some arms from lately (Broom, Adam Scott, Coulter). At worst a good bullpen conversion arm.
