Celtics Will Be Without Jaylen Brown Saturday

0 6

Boston Celtics Head Coach Brad Stevens provided an update ahead of their contest against the Golden State Warriors, and Jaylen Brown will not be in the Celtics lineup Saturday. Chris Forsberg tweeted that Brown is out with an illness but confirmed that Jabari Parker would dress for the first time in over a month.

Brown has been on a tear recently, averaging 45.0 FanDuel Fantasy Points per game over his last five starts. Grant Williams is second on the Celtics depth chart at small forward; with both Brown and Evan Fournier out, he could be asked to eat up a lot of minutes against the Dubs. Williams has been largely ineffective offensively, and his position in the starting lineup is that of a placeholder. Williams carries a $3,500 salary on Saturday.

That could be a green light for Jayson Tatum to take over. Tatum has gone above his average FanDuel Fantasy Points in three of his last four games and carries a $9,400 salary on the main slate. Kemba Walker could also benefit from Brown’s absence and build off the 35.2 FanDuel Fantasy Points he’s averaging over his last four games.

The Celts are down to 3 points favorites against the Warriors at FanDuel Sportsbook. The total sits at 227.5.
