Packers Decline Franchise Tag for Aaron Jones

The Green Bay Packers have declined their franchise tag on running back Aaron Jones, as Adam Schefter reported. Schefter reports the Packers will try to re-sign Jones to a deal before free agency.
A four-year running back, Jones has spent his entire career with the Packers, rushing for 2,264 yards and 184 touchdowns. In the 2020 season, Jones started 14 games, rushing for 1,104 yards and nine touchdowns, ranking 11th among all running backs.
Jones is the lead back for the Packers, responsible for 50% of the rushing market share, more than double of Jamaal Williams, who is second on the team with 21%.
