[Baseball] Eggleston Selected to KCAC Baseball Preseason Team
WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior pitcher Austin Eggleston (SR/Arlington, Texas) has been named to the 2021 KCAC Baseball Preseason Team, the league announced today (Jan. 21).
A 2019 KCAC honorable-mention performer, Eggleston exceled in a relief role last season prior to the cancellation due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
A native of Arlington, Texas, Eggleston finished last year tied in the KCAC with four saves while tallying a sparkling 1.71 earned-run-average and a 31/6 K-BB ratio.
He also won three times in four decisions and limited opposing hitters to only a .190 batting average.
Eggleston played a critical role in the Falcons enjoying a nine-game winning streak last season and winding up 14-13 overall prior to the cancellation.
The Falcons are set to open the 2021 campaign tomorrow (Jan. 22) at home with a single-game vs. Peru State College starting at 2 pm at West Side Athletic field. The two schools will then play a twinbill Saturday (Jan. 23) at noon.
