The Coaches
Drew Johnson enters his third year as the head coach of the Bethel women's basketball program.
Johnson inherited a program in 2017-18 that had gone 4-26 the season prior, and in two years has culminated a record of 32-30. This includes the historic 20-10 record Bethel put together in 2018-19, in which they broke numerous program records. Their 20 wins were the most in a single-season in the program's history and helped them clinch their first postseason berth inside of Thresher Gym for the first time in eight years.
Johnson came to Bethel after nine years of high school coaching experience, (Valley Center, Derby, and Clay Center) and three years of coaching club basketball with the Ohlde Elite program. During that time Johnson coached players that went on to play in the Ivy League, Missouri Valley, Summitt, MIAA, and KCAC. As a high school coach, he helped with scouting, skill development, and game preparation.
