Source: Mets Could Shift Focus Following Trade, Jackie Bradley Jr. Becomes Target

0 7

According to sources, the Mets are expected to shift their philosophy for the rest of the offseason following today’s blockbuster trade for Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco.

The team is now taking a more “quality over quantity” approach to the rest of the winter. The Mets still have a handful of needs to fill, including another starting pitcher, a bench bat, and a bullpen arm with only about $28 million left before the Mets reach the Luxury Tax threshold. The threshold is not a hard cap, but Steve Cohen has expressed his disinterest in going over it.

The Mets have been rumored to be interested in star relievers Brad Hand and Liam Hendriks.

Along with these relievers, MetsMerized’s Mike Mayer is reporting that the Mets are interested in Jackie Bradley Jr.

Bradley Jr., 30, is one of the premier defensive centerfielder in the sport, and would solidify one of the strongest defenses up the middle.
