Virus Testing Costs Could Halt College Football
Interesting article in the Baton Rouge Advocate today (7-25-2020) spotlights how the cost to Louisiana colleges in coronavirus testing could be a financial blow to our States colleges.
In referring to the turnaround time of getting results, it quotes Tommy McCelland that since July 4 that test results were taking as long as five-to-eight days.
It also cites the cost for what it says is the NCAAs preferred test, PCR tests, averages $100-$110 and says that for Northwestern States 71 football players you are looking at $8,000 a week which, multiplied by 16 weeks, the NSU athletic director said, is a chunk of money.
