[Women's Golf] Women's Golf Places 4th at NWU Classic

Doane Women's Golf played one of their closest meets of the year to Crete on Tuesday when they took part in the Nebraska Wesleyan Fall Classic in Lincoln at Pioneers GC. The course played at a Par 74 over 5,876 yards. Doane shot a 357 team score to place 4th.

Autumn Hurd (SR/Bridgewater, S.D.) led the way for the Tigers with a round of 87 to tie for 12th. Tressa Bull (SO/Burke, S.D.) and Payton Zarkowski (JR/Benkelman, Neb.) tied for 14th with rounds of 89. Margaret Elliott (JR/Omaha, Neb.) tied for 20th with a round of 92. Stephanie Hoshor (SR/Murray, Neb.) posted a 93 and tied for 22nd.

For Zarkowski and Hoshor, they each posted individual collegiate-best scores on the day.

The Tiger "B" team placed 7th with a 438 team score. Emily Maruska (JR/Grand Island, Neb.) placed 33rd with a 105. Anna Korte (SO/Grand Island, Neb.) was 34th with a 106. Christine Rost (JR/Hamburg, Iowa) placed 36th with a 111 and Macy Due (FR/Cordova, Neb.) was 37th with a 116.

Next up for the Tigers will be the GPAC Championships on September 30 and October 1 at The Bluffs GC in Vermillion, S.D. The first two rounds will be played in the fall with the third and fourth rounds scheduled for the spring with the winner of the tournament qualifying for the NAIA National Championships.
