MADISON, S.D. (Aug. 25, 2019)—The Dakota State University Trojan volleyball team (0-0 overall record) officially kicks off their 2019 season at home on Tuesday evening. The Trojans look to halt College of Saint Mary's hot start (Neb.) (8-0 overall record) as they battle out in a non-conference clash at DSU Fieldhouse. There will be a junior varsity match at 6 p.m., followed by a varsity match at 7:30 p.m. Swap 'Ur Swag is the theme for the DSU volleyball home opener.
DSU plays its season home opener for the first time since the 2016 season when they hosted Morningside (Iowa) at DSU Fieldhouse.
Dakota State will play four matches in the Arizona Christian tournament on Friday and Saturday in Glendale, Ariz. on Arizona State west campus. The Trojans play Park-Gilbert (Ariz.) (3-2) and SAGU-American Indian (0-2) on Friday DSU closes out the tournament with a pair of matches on Saturday versus Montana State-Northern (3-2) and host-team Arizona Christian (1-2).
Next Up: Dakota State returns back to the Midwest region and stays on the road on Friday, Sept. 6. The Trojans visit Morningside (Iowa) in a non-conference contest, starting with a junior varsity match at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity match at 7 p.m. The matches are being held at RVSC-Allee Gym in Sioux City, Iowa.
