[HSSU Hornets] Two Teams Earn NAIA Scholar-Team Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 1,939 teams that have earned the distinction as Scholar-Teams for the 2018-19 academic year. Harris-Stowe had two teams earn the distinction as the women's soccer team and the women's basketball teams were both recognized.

For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.

The women's soccer team finished the academic year with an athletic department high 3.046 grade point average. The women's basketball team also had an impressive academic year as they finished second in the department with a 3.036 grade point average.
