[Men's Lacrosse] Men's lacrosse falls on the road to NCAA's Greensboro College
GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Montreat Cavaliers' men's lacrosse team dropped a 16-5 decision to the NCAA's Greensboro College Pride on Saturday in Greensboro.
The Cavs went into the locker room at halftime trailing 6-4, but a Greensboro surge under a steady downfall in the second half proved the difference in the battle of NAIA/NCAA opponents. The Pride moved to 1-2 on the season while Montreat dropped to 0-5.
Attackman Cody Bischoff scored a goal in his fifth-consecutive game for the Cavaliers while attackman/midfielder Josten Ucros scored two man-up goals for Montreat. Midfielder Kyndell Overton and attackman Chris Jackson rounded out the Montreat scoring with a goal apiece.
Defensively, Montreat was at times excellent, particularly in the first half when they limited the Pride to six-goals despite the sloppy playing conditions on the wet turf at Greensboro. Face-off specialist Joshua Brown again led the team with seven ground balls, while keeper Tristen Terry gathered in four. Riki Rendon-Habana again played well at close defense, closing out several defensive stops with a well-timed check.
Up Next: The Cavaliers head on the road again to Rome, Georgia on Thursday when they face the NCAA DII Shorter Hawks at 3:00 p.m.
